Why PCH? Why were you interested in joining the PCH Board and working for affordable housing in Princeton?
Since I moved to Princeton in 1991, my interest in affordable housing has grown as I have watched the town become progressively less affordable for middle- and lower-income families. When I served as a member and Chair of the Township’s Zoning Board, I became familiar with Princeton’s zoning laws and began to understand their impact on affordable housing. I joined PCH’s Public Relations and Advocacy Committee to begin applying my own efforts toward addressing the problem, and I am eager to make a greater impact as a member of PCH’s Board.
What is your professional background?
I began my legal career in Washington D.C. after graduating from Georgetown Law. I worked for two consumer groups, learning how to advocate for legislative change before Congress. When we moved to Princeton in 1991, I was pregnant with our first son, and keen to begin a job enforcing New Jersey’s environmental laws as a Deputy Attorney General. I continued that work after our second son was born. In 2003, I took a two-and-a-half-year break to serve as an Assistant Counsel to Governors McGreevey and Codey, learning how laws are made from the inside of the process. I returned to the Attorney General’s office to work on human services cases, while both our kids finished PHS. In 2017, I began my current position directing the New Jersey Department of Health’s enforcement efforts.
How long have you been in the Princeton area?
We moved here in 1991 from D.C. to be close to family as we started our own family, and as I began a job as a Deputy Attorney General with the office of the Attorney General in Trenton while my husband began work as an attorney in a Newark law firm. Later, Princeton's great school system cemented our ties here.

I love walking in woods and fields; paddling in lakes, streams and the canal; biking, singing; taking photographs; reading; going to movies, theatre, and dance; wandering around museums; traveling; and people watching in NYC.
